A Look at "Louis Pasteur"

We are performing in less than a month!  With continued focus, despite this short season, I think we will pull off something incredible!  Already we have seen miracles as a venue has become available and as children are continuing to learn their parts and become more comfortable with the staging. I am grateful they are so flexible and quick with learning some choreography for our songs to make it all the more fun.

PROPS:

I will start a post with a list of necessary props if you could check through it to see what you have that you might be willing to contribute, find or lend.

COSTUMES:

Please email Elizabeth Myles with a picture of your child in their various costumes.

REHEARSALS:

We will have rehearsal as usual in my home this week.  Please bring snacks to share as our kids get kind of tired and hungry by the end.

May 6th rehearsal will be at the venue (Federal Valley Resource Center at 8225 OH-329, Stewart, OH 45778) and from 3-5 (choir rehearsal will go a little longer that day).

May 13th will be back at my house, from 2:30-6 pm, with a cast party for the last hour.  We will be going through the whole thing hopefully two or more times.

May 15th is a Saturday morning rehearsal 9:30-1 pm.

May 17-20 are all 2:30-5 pm at the venue, are mandatory with full costumes.  (Picture day is on May 18.) Please have your kids bring snacks and water.

Performances will be on the 21st and 22nd at 7 pm. Please RSVP the tickets you want for the night you want in advance. We will have limited seating to 50 people each night and are super excited to perform!

More info as we get closer but that gives you an idea of where things are at.  Please pepper me with questions or anything that is confusing.

Lightside Choir...please read!!!

Our performance is a week from this Thursday!!!  So excited.  They are doing soooooo well.  Please read all the info at least once before Thursday so we can help this extremely short season have a successful conclusion :D.

VENUE

I am so excited to announce that we have a perfect venue for our performances!!! The performers will not need to wear masks, but those in attendance will be required to.  They will be sitting in family groups, as well, so we need to have our tickets pre-ordered. I am trying to find someone to be the coordinator for tickets (and generate a flyer) but in the meanwhile, start spreading the word to family and friends that our performance is Friday, May 7, 2021 at 7 pm.  There will only be one performance and it is limited to 50 people.  The cost will be $2/ticket just to cover the $100 cost for renting the room for the night.  It does not include renting it for rehearsal, but the tuition should help cover most of that.

We may have concessions, if anyone wants to start wrapping their heads around that.  If not, I will probably come up with something.

REHEARSALS

(1) This week, we will be starting rehearsal at 12:30 pm.  I would like to review the choreography and sign language we have for some of the songs before 1 pm so we can run through everything from 1-2 pm. Because that makes our day a little longer, please also bring a snack to share in between choir and acting, as they will still have (and need :D...) their 30 minute break in between.

Please, please, please have everyone review their songs and solos!  A few of the kids are still struggling with the words so it will help everyone if we all review them so we are comfortable with the words and not using the book. (We will be using it for "Inscription of Hope" and "Hallelujah" but that is all.)  (Link to outline of solos here, so you can check and make sure you know which songs your kids have solos in. If you need more specific direction, like which lines are their solos, let me know.)

(2)  Next week's rehearsal will be a dress rehearsal and on location at the Federal Valley Resource Center at 8225 OH-329, Stewart, OH 45778.  It is between my house and Athens...kind of. (Out past Guysville).  We will meet from 1-5 (usual choir and acting time) and will also want costumes and snacks for that one.

COSTUMES

Please have your children bring their costumes/performance clothing for choir this week. Anything showy: dresses, top hats, bow ties, sparkly tutus...just think "Greatest Showman" (but modest, please :D....)  That way we can see the variety and also make sure we all have what we want and are on the same page.

Questions?  Please reply or comment :D.  Looking forward to it!!!
